Frequently Asked Questions
If you don’t find the answer you’re looking for among the following questions, there are generally two possibilities: either it’s something you probably shouldn’t be asking a roller blind manufacturer, or it’s simply not a question we get asked very often.
Okay, there’s actually a third possibility — we just haven’t had the chance to gather and publish all the questions and answers here yet. But hey, it’s a start!
How long is Rulo’s delivery time for window coverings?
We typically produce and deliver all classic blinds, pleated blinds, venetian blinds, and curtain rails within 7–10 working days from the receipt of payment. The delivery time for insect screens is 10–15 working days. Please note that delivery times may vary depending on the season and ongoing promotions. For more precise delivery estimates, feel free to contact our customer support at info@rulo.ee.
If your order includes different product categories—such as curtain rails and cassette blinds—the courier may deliver the items in separate shipments on different dates.
Do I need a specialist for measuring and installation?
If you have a measuring tape, you can measure your windows yourself by following our step-by-step instructions. And if you own a cordless drill, you’ll generally be able to handle the installation as well. For smaller projects (1–3 windows), we usually recommend the DIY route. However, for larger orders, it may be worth considering a professional measuring and installation service. In addition to saving time and ensuring accuracy, this also gives you added peace of mind—if any issues arise, the responsibility for resolving them rests with us.
You can find all measuring and installation guides here
An installation guide is also included with your order via a QR code on the packaging, which you can easily scan with your phone.
Which measuring tool should I use?
Use only a calibrated, metal construction tape measure for measuring your windows. Using other types of measuring tools may result in window coverings that do not match the intended dimensions.

How to measure windows for installing a cassette blind or pleated blind on the window frame?
How to measure your window to order a cassette blind?

For the cassette blind, measure H1, L1, and L2 as shown in the picture above.
Also, measure the glazing bead depth D1 (see photo).
If D1 is less than 15 mm, order the cassette roller blind with a C-profile side rail. If D1 is more than 15 mm, we produce cassette roller blinds with semi-opaque fabric using flat side rails, and with blackout or striped fabrics using C-profile side rails. If you have any additional questions or special requests, please contact our customer support at info@rulo.ee, or include your preferences in the comments box when placing your order.
How to measure your window to order a pleated blind?
Measure the glazing bead depth D1 (see photo).
If D1 is less than 15 mm and/or angled, the pleated blind must be mounted on the window frame (measure H1 and L1).
If D1 is at least 15 mm and has a flat plastic surface, the pleated blind can be mounted on the glazing bead (measure H2 and L2).
Does my window have a square or rounded glazing bead?
Triple-glazed windows generally have a square (kandiline) glazing bead (see photo). Double-glazed windows may have either a square or rounded glazing bead. You can recognize a rounded glazing bead if it lacks a distinct corner and the side facing the glass is curved.

When should I add 16mm to the size of a cassette blind?
When providing the cassette blind measurements, make sure that the glazing bead is not angled sharply or rounded. If it is, add 16 mm (8 + 8 mm) to the measurement.

Which types of window units are not suitable for mounting cassette blinds?

What does a window with small panes mean?
For window units with similar small panes, the pleated blind can only be mounted on the window frame, and the cassette blind must be installed using C-type side profiles.

What does a pleated blind operating rod look like?

Which type of glazing bead is not suitable for mounting a pleated blind?
In some cases, even if the glazing bead depth is 15 mm, the shape of the glazing bead profile may not allow the pleated blind to be mounted onto the glass with standard brackets.
This can occur, for example, when:
- The glazing bead has an unusual or complex shape
- The bead is at a steep angle that prevents stable attachment

Covering an Opening with Two or More Pleated Blinds
Larger openings can be covered with two or even three pleated blinds installed side by side. There’s no need to worry about a large, noticeable gap between the blinds — the spacing is minimal and visually discreet.
Below are a few examples of how openings look when covered with two or three adjacent pleated blinds:

How many cord rows does a pleated blind have?
The number of cord holes in the fabric and profiles depends on the dimensions of the pleated blind being produced.
If you’d like to know how many cord rows your specific blind will have, feel free to contact us before placing your order at info@rulo.ee — we’ll be happy to provide the details!
